For this week’s dish, I’d like to recommend a D.O. Méntrida red wine produced by the Jiménez-Landi winery.
Piélago is made 100% from Garnacha grapes. The grapes come from old vineyards aged between 40 and 70 years and situated at an altitude of 700-850 metres. After vinification, Piélago is aged for 20 months in oak barrels.
Piélago 2016 is a deep, fluid and fresh red wine. The highlights of this vintage are its elegant aromas of fresh red fruits and a mineral background. The mouthfeel is agile, expressive and long.
Serving temperature of 16ºC. It pairs perfectly with red meats, grilled pork, and mushroom and meat rice dishes.
